Book Notes

The following is documentation and ratings on the recent books I have been reading. For some of my favourite books I will include personal notes and insights that I obtained while reading. I will try to avoid proving too much detail or a “book summary” as I believe if people are interested in the topics, they should take the time to fully read the book to generate their own ideas and perspectives.

5/5

Creativity, Inc. is an incredible book about the career of Ed Catmull and the history of Pixar Animation Studios. I came across so many great ideas and principles. Notes on this book to come soon…

The Catalyst is a fantastic read, there are a number of great ideas that people can apply to their careers. Notes on this book to come soon…

The Organized Mind is one of those books that you can re-read once every couple of years. There are so many great priniples and ideas in this book that you can directly apply to your own life and career. Notes on this book to come soon…

3/5

A short biography of the life and career of Bill Campbell. This book is a great light read but I didn’t find anything too revolutionary throughout. It is still a very interesting and entertaining read for anyone interested in one of the most influential business leaders in Silicon Valley.

4/5

A book about American mathematician Jim Simons and the rise of the Quant fund Renaissance Technologies. If you are into finance and investing you will find this book very entertaining. The book reads more like a story nothing too technical in the reading.

3/5

A brief summary of Marc Benioff’s career as the co-founder of Salesforce. I really enjoyed this book as an investor in the company but didn’t find anything too revolutionary outside the idea of corporate social responsibility.
